Language, hands, and emotion enable humans to invent technologies that structure the built environment and its surrounding social dynamics. Our creations shape the experiences of being human within an ecosystem. With our particular sentience, we envision the future and confront the past as though they were elsewhere. However, both past and future exist solely in the present as either remnant or speculation. Within this framework, control is an illusion and the entropy of our ecosystem determines fate. So see with curiosity, experience with wonder, fight with resilience, and relentlessly beg the question: why did we do this?
